Measure first, buy second

Half of WiFi problems in Cluses come from a router placed in the wrong spot or a radio channel saturated by neighbours. Before letting you spend € 200 on an extender or € 600 on a mesh, I measure coverage in each room with a pro app (WiFi Analyzer, NetSpot) and we decide together on the best solution.

• WiFi 6 / 6E / 7 if your hardware supports it (better throughput, lower latency)
• Mesh / extenders: TP-Link Deco, Asus ZenWiFi, Netgear Orbi, Eero, Devolo PLC
• Security: WPA3, strong password, MAC filtering, guest isolation
• Guest network for visitors, separate from your devices
• Sharing of printers, NAS, USB drives on the network
• Home VPN (Wireguard, OpenVPN) for remote work
• QoS configuration so video calls (Zoom, Teams) stay smooth

Multi-floor or through-corridor flats

In older Cluses flats (Cluses centre historique, Sallanches, Scionzier, Bonneville) with reinforced concrete or thick brick walls, a properly placed 2- or 3-station mesh almost always beats a basic extender. An ethernet cable between stations remains the best solution where the topology allows (or a Devolo Magic powerline backbone in non-wired flats).

For villas and large houses (La Roche-sur-Foron, Saint-Jeoire, Vandœuvres), I recommend a tri-band mesh with dedicated backhaul.

The home WiFi setup flat rate covers:

• Full diagnosis of the existing WiFi (signal mapping room by room)
• ISP router configuration (channels, security, ports, NAT)
• Install and configure extenders or mesh provided by you
• Network hardening and guest network creation
• Functional tests from phone, computer, printer

Average duration: 1 to 2 hours on site.

Mesh or extender hardware not included in the flat rate (typical cost: € 100 to 600 depending on home size).

Small-business networking

For medical offices, accountants, agencies, shops: VLAN setup, patient / staff network separation, Synology NAS for backup, secure remote access. Flat rate on quote.
