Pricing and payment

Pricing and payment

How much does a PC repair in Cluses cost?

The base flat rate is € 50 for an on-site repair up to 1 hour (diagnosis included). Beyond that, we switch to the hourly rate of € 80/h. Every flat rate (Windows, virus, WiFi, etc.) is announced before the work starts.

How is the intervention paid?

At the end, by cash, PayPal or French bank transfer. A detailed invoice is handed to you on site or emailed afterwards. No credit cards taken on site to keep fees down.

Is travel billed on top?

For the main towns of the Cluses, travel is included in the base flat rate. For more remote communes (Magland, Veyrier, Samoëns, etc.) a travel surcharge is announced on the phone before the visit.

Do you give a quote before starting?

Yes, always. After a free on-site diagnosis (15 to 20 minutes), I announce a flat rate or an hourly estimate. You validate before I start any paid work.

How fast do you arrive in Cluses?

In the Cluses (Cluses, Sallanches, Bonneville, Scionzier, Marignier) count 20 to 45 minutes after your call. In the communes (Chamonix, Saint-Gervais, Megève, Annemasse, Samoëns), 35 to 55 minutes. The exact arrival time is given during the call.

Do you work evenings and weekends?

Yes, I am available 7 days a week from 9 am to 10 pm, including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. No surcharge for evenings or weekends — the rate stays the one shown on the Pricing page.

How long does a typical visit last?

One to two hours for a standard PC repair. Two to three hours for a full Windows reinstall with data restore. For longer cases (data recovery, heavy virus cleanup), we plan two visits if needed.

Do I need to be home during the visit?

Ideally yes at the start (to open the door, validate the quote and explain the problem). If the work is long, you can carry on with your day at home — I don't need constant supervision and I work quietly.

How does a typical visit unfold?

  1. Call and short description of the issue. 2) Arrival at your place, free diagnosis (15-20 min). 3) Flat rate announced, validation. 4) Repair done in front of you with explanations. 5) Tests, invoice, payment.

Which PC brands do you repair?

All major PC brands: Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, MSI, Microsoft Surface, Razer, Huawei, plus custom-built PCs. On the Mac side: iMac, MacBook Air and Pro, Mac mini and Mac Studio, Intel or Apple Silicon.

Can you recover data from a failing hard drive?

Yes in most cases: drive that still boots but slows down, lost partition, deleted file, invisible SSD. Free diagnosis before any quote. For mechanical failures (clicking drive), I refer you to a clean-room lab.

Can you install Windows 11 on an older PC?

If your PC meets the requirements (TPM 2.0, UEFI, compatible CPU), yes. Otherwise, I suggest either staying on Windows 10 (extended support) or considering a hardware upgrade (SSD + RAM) that often makes the old PC perfectly usable.

Do you also work for Cluses SMEs?

Yes, I regularly serve small businesses (medical offices, lawyers, accountants, agencies, shops). Same rates as for home users. Compliant invoice (VAT not applicable, French micro-entrepreneur regime). On request, a flat-rate maintenance contract for scheduled visits.

My PC is very slow — can it really regain speed?

Almost always. Three actions fix 80% of cases: deep cleanup (startup apps, temporary files, browser), switch to SSD if still on a spinning drive, RAM upgrade. Free diagnosis to assess the best route.

Which communes around Cluses do you cover?

The whole Cluses with no surcharge. Neighbouring communes covered with a possible travel surcharge: Chamonix, Saint-Gervais, Megève, Annemasse, Samoëns, Passy, Saint-Jeoire, La Roche-sur-Foron, Bonneville, Scionzier, Marignier, Magland.

Do you cross over to neighbouring France?

I stay focused on the département of Cluses. For urgent cases close to the border (Annemasse, Ferney-Voltaire, Saint-Genis-Pouilly), a visit is possible on quote, but French invoicing is no longer guaranteed.

What if you cannot repair my PC?

If, after a full on-site diagnosis, I cannot solve the problem, you only pay the travel flat rate (announced on the phone). You leave with a clear opinion on what to do next — part to swap, lab work needed, machine to replace — and a partner to contact if relevant.

Is my data safe during the intervention?

I always work at your place, in front of you: your PC never leaves home and your data is never copied to any external medium without your consent. Before any risky operation (reinstall, format) I offer a quick backup onto a disk you can see.

Is there a warranty after the visit?

Yes: if the same issue comes back within 14 days, I return for free to fix it. The warranty obviously does not cover a new unrelated problem or a hardware part that fails after the visit.
